Merope is trying to take a short wikibreak and will be back on Wikipedia on 23 October. Most likely, however, Merope won't be able to keep away from Wikipedia for that long, and will probably be back a lot earlier while making some small edits every once in a while anyway. |
Leave a new message. I will respond to you on your talk page unless you indicate otherwise.

My RfA
Just wanted to send a quick note of thanks for your support in my RfA. :-) I really appreciate it! Best, Irongargoyle 03:02, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
RfA thanks from StuffOfInterest
|
Thank you for participating in my RfA, which finished with a tally of 52/6/1 (~90%). It was an interesting process which gave me a chance to learn a bit about myself and about the community. My intention now is to slowly ease into using those additional buttons on my page. No use being over eager and mucking up the works. The support of all those who went over my record and/or rallied to my defense after the big oppose vote was instumental to the success of this review. Again, thank you! --StuffOfInterest 12:19, 10 October 2006 (UTC) |
Question about test6
Hi, just out of interest, I noticed you sometimes use test6 as the block message instead of test5; how do you choose? -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 14:42, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Longcroft School and Performing Arts College
Hi,
It is not the case of e-mailing the history at all. We would like the history to be deleted from the article. We are are getting comments from other pupils that have started to find out about the incident, and would rather have it deleted before parents start to read the Article History.
Thanks

Thankyou Very Much. Sorry to cause such trouble!!

Helium.com
We are trying to put in an entry about a company called Helium, Inc that launched today. You apparently deleted this article. Can you please explain what we need to do to write about this new company on Wikipedia.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Marthaxyz (talk • contribs) .
Question about blocking
Please check the page I deleted here. It is obviously vandalism and an attack/threat page. My question is what is the appropriate sanction considering the nature of the threat and the fact that some information that might be able to used to identify the target was revealed? Thanks for your feedback, Irongargoyle 15:05, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Freak xxi
I checked through the article again, and there is definitly no assertion of notability. All it does is list their albums, how the album sounded and a in a couple of cases what they wore on stage. The Kinslayer 15:50, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Deletion of Elena Paparizou (Untitled International Album)
Although I nominated it, I just realised I made a mistake in nominating the above. If you'll notice I also requested the history to be merged of this article into The Game of Love (it's actual title - it had been cut and pasted). SO: me being stupid, I nominated the redirect for deletion too soon, so if you could either undelete it or merge the history yourself (since I've explained to you what happened) then that would be great. Thanks (and sorry for the inconvenience) - Рэдхот 16:03, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks. (You can delete the redirect if you want, or just leave it - someone will do it) - Рэдхот 16:39, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Deletion of article on Betterware
Hello: You thought my article on Betterware was advertising.
This is not the intention, and to further emphesis this I added negative points of view about the company.
I created it because there is an article about Kleeneze, a company offering similar products in the same marketplace that operate's illegally; and no article about it's nearest legitimate equivalent.
Please reconsider or advise what I should leave out.
I think there should be an article about this, since it is a prominent and well-known UK company.
(I am in an intercafe and will have to leave by 1815GMT today.)

Whoops, I'd someone gotten it in my head that blanking pages was a big no-no. Thanks for the heads up! -- DiegoTehMexican 17:09, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
LEI Financial
Hello, My contribution LEI Financial was taken off because it was considered an advertisement. I assume I put to many out bound links in the article and I quickly removed them, but the section was still removed. what I was trying to do was create a definition for my company, similar to Countrywide financial. Can you please help by telling me what I did wrong so that I do not do it again. Thank you very much for your help —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mferree (talk • contribs) .

Frank Hogan
Hi. I noticed your change of the tag. I checked the speedy page and I thought it was a valid candidate. Under "articles" at point 7 it says "Unremarkable people, groups, companies and websites." So why was my listing incorrect? There is no information on google or the article that says there's anything noteworthy about this person. By the way please reply on my talk page. John Smith's 18:01, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

ResortQuest International, Inc.
Shame of it is, if I hadn't noticed all the redirects showing up in the Recent changes list, I wouldn't have tagged his main article as spam. His mistake ;-) Fan-1967 18:40, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Please advise regarding ResortQuest International, Inc.
The article "ResortQuest International, Inc." has been deleted based on redirects that were created today. Please reinstate the article, as the both the company's parent and sister companies have lengthy, legitimate Wikipedia articles. The ResortQuest International article itself contains factual historic and industry-related information and contains no external links except for a single link at the end of the article to the offical ResortQuest website.
Regarding the redirects, they were created in an attempt to access the article when searching on similar terms, such as the more common "ResortQuest" or "Resort Quest" and variations thereof. Is there a better/simpler way to ensure that such searches find the "ResortQuest International, Inc." article? Prior to the article being deleted, such searches did not result in finding the actual article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Limnologist (talk • contribs) .
- Thank you for the advice on submitting a review. Would you consider re-posting the article and allowing me to revise the content? You mentioned that it did not adhere to the policy of neutral point of view. I am familiar with the policy, but I do not know what in this particular article you believe to be biased; please elaborate so that I may edit.
- Also, would you kindly respond to my question about ensuring that searches find the correct article (so that redirects are not necessary), or point me to a Wiki article that better explains this process? Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Limnologist (talk • contribs) .
SMFR
Please see my comments about SMFR on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/UngBDSM. Also, please note that I also created an article about Turun Baletti, where similar notability concerns apply. Myself, I think both organisations are notable as being the only public BDSM organisations in Helsinki and Turku, respectively. The article List of BDSM organizations (gosh I hate typing that "zee" every time) originally had over 92% of its organisations in the USA, so I created articles about two Finnish organisations to counter its apparent geographic bias. And here I thought I was the only one wading through the mess of computer mods guess not. Whispering(talk/c) 19:05, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hmm and here I thought I did. So what are all those nasty comments on my talk page for then? <G> Whispering(talk/c) 19:33, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Sorry about the note deletion on the MTA page!!
With the revert of the Multi Theft Auto article, I didnt mean to delete that note. I didnt know it was inside the article. There was disagreement whether it should be an extensive article or just a summary. Therefore its been agreed to summarize it and provide a huge history somewhere more suitable. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lakecityransom (talk • contribs) .

Thank you for you assistance. I will review the article and limit the redirects. Limnologist 19:32, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Deletion of The Beefeaters
Hey -- I was just going to de-speedy this article and prod it when you deleted it. I know you're a new admin -- I just wanted to mention it. I felt that the article didn't meet CSD A7 because it talked about them "set[ting] the standard for the Chicago based punk scene and paved the way for bands such as The Ninny's and The Dermits just to name a few." A7 should be very restrictive -- any importance (not just WP:MUSIC or WP:BIO "notability") should be enough. Anyway, if you end up agreeing with me I'd still leave it deleted unless the author shows up requesting undeletion... WP:SNOW and all that. Mangojuicetalk 19:47, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Tradition Counties
It is clearly a candidate. LancsLad and Owain have been creating articles that refer to their and Councy Watch's fanatsy of Traditional Counties. Such articles can be found all over WikiPedia such as Highes points in tradtional counties.--84.9.193.208 20:57, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Dhanks
After asking for the right to disappear, Dhanks (talk • contribs) has edited Talk:Sudosh again. This makes my hackles unhappy. Is there an official stance on about-faces like this? — Saxifrage ✎ 06:15, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Todd marriott
With regard to the removal of the speedy delete tag from Todd marriott, although that article asserted notability, its claims were fake, having been adapted from the first few paragraphs of the article Phil Collins. "Marriott" even had the same song titles as Phil Collins. I don't believe that the speedy delete criteria should be so restrictive that obvious hoaxes are entitled to a five-day reprieve. Otherwise, there would be no way to speedy delete an article along the following lines:
- Metro Politan90 is the 44th President of the United States, having been elected in 2004 and taking office in 2005. He was previously the Governor of Texas and is married to Laura Politan90 and has twin daughters, Jenna Politan90 and Barbara Politan90.
That would assert notability, and it's not patent nonsense, but it certainly isn't the kind of thing Wikipedia needs to keep around for five days either. --Metropolitan90 06:31, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Deletion question
I would like to know please why you deleted the article I was writing on. I have just organized a team of 6 people to fill in the pages with the facts and statistics necessary to keep the article going.
The subject is a very important topic and one that has historical significance for the Filipino people.
Kindly inform me of the reason for the deletion, and what I need to do so that the article will not be deleted again.
Thank you and God bless —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mjsc (talk • contribs) .
I started an article called "Barangay Health Volunteers, Philippines".
I saved it to test that it is already published. Then proceeded to edit it to add more information. When I tried to save the new information I put in, you had already deleted the article, with no reason given.
Kindly explain. Please help me navigate through these, because this is a very important first step to get our Health Volunteers into globalization.
I will re-create the article now. And request that you allow it time to digest, distill and grow. And at anytime you feel strongly about deleting it again, kindly warn us, so that we can explain why it is "notable".
I will also assure you as a professional that the article is notable and is relevant to over 100,000 Health volunteers in the Philippines and an equal number of professionals who support and have faith in them.
Why Simviation.com deleted?
My website Simviation.com was deleted by you on Oct 06.
Yet my competitors are left untouched. We never added our site - I presume it was originally posted by your staff & has been on Wiki for several years. It was vandalised on several occasions -
We never had any warning of this deletion & would like to know how to get this deserving site back where it deserves to be - on Wikipedia?
Thanks
Kitty-Yo
I noticed you deleted Kitty-Yo, a German record company, apparently as an A7. As a noted independent label that's distributed albums for acts such as Maximilian Hecker, would you consider restoring the article? I don't think A7 would have qualified. Thanks! --badlydrawnjeff talk 18:22, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: Les Miserables
Oh, I see! Thanks for letting me know about that; I didn't realize. Actually, there were two links involved with that transaction; one seems to be the Abandonware stuff you guys mention, and the other is http://www.lesmisgame.com/. Is that included in the concerns? It doesn't seem like it's the same sort of thing. --Masamage 18:34, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

"dragonball1986"
Is there some appropriate way for me to deal with that user? I am considering simply removing my messages from his archive rather than letting them sit in there being modified by him. However, I think the point is important to make to him, that he can't distort what others are saying, selectively archive it, etc. Nothing he's doing is original (for example renaming his archive the "selectively archived warnings"), but I don't think he's really gotten the point. ... aa:talk 19:48, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Dan Ochsner deletion
I was adding pages for radio personalities and shows in St Cloud, MN. This one (Dan Ochsner) was added and I was going to get biographical information this week. Is there a way for me to do this without being subject to quick deletion? Should I have made it a stub instead? (Though I am relatively new to doing this stuff, which is why I just did 'Create Article' from the help pages.) Should I have instead added the wiki holdon tag?
Actually, there is something you could do for me
There's an IP user, 84.9.193.208 (talk • contribs • page moves • block user • block log), who has been moderately but consistently incivil at Talk:Lancashire who I asked to be civil yesterday. (I'm not involved with the page, I followed some Talk comments above there.) The result of my (rather long) messages on their Talk page has been this exchange: User talk:Saxifrage#Abuse. Since they've claimed to being banned user Irate (talk • contribs • page moves • block user • block log), could you review this and maybe talk to the blocking admin about the possibility that this user is telling the truth, and evading a block? Entirely besides that, I think they'd be blockable for extreme incivility, but if it's the case that they're evading, it's nice to have an overkill of reasons for blocking. Thanks! — Saxifrage ✎ 20:11, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for Talking to someone about this. It's a good learning opportunity I'm sure, trial by fire and all that. ;-) — Saxifrage ✎ 20:51, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Do U think I'm the only Wikipedian of Wikipedia that has that message post?
Until there is a new Wikipedia rule, or if an Administrator actually says it's against wiki policies, then I'll remove it. Dragonball1986 20:49, 11 October 2006 (UTC), believe it!!!
Deleting talk page warnings
You said consensus has not been reached...does that imply that there an ongoing debate somewhere? -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 22:55, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the pointers, I'll look into them. FYI, the discussion I was referring to is under 'Bot?' on User talk:CalendarWatcher; the user in question is User:Raja Lon Flattery. I have no ongoing quarrel with him; this appears to have been a stupid one-time test that he was running. But at some point in the future, I'd really like to be able to tell the next Wikilawyer that he does, in fact, have to maintain a link to his archives on his main talk page, and that he can't use fancy archiving as a loophole to make talk page warnings disappear. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 23:46, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi, yesterday I started the DaDaBIK article as a stub; you have deleted it because the text has been copyed from Web sites. The text has been copied from the official Web site (www.dadabik.org) and I am the author of DaDaBIK and of the DaDaBIK Web site.
Can you reply to my email address eugenio dot tacchini at unicatt dot it ?

An anonymous editor keeps adding (extremely) POV-laden comments to Arab-Israeli conflict. I have used up my three reverts. I warned this user about violating 3RR on the john kerry page, which he/she was just vandalizing. It looks like it might be a new user though, who may not have even noticed my message on their talk page. In any event, could you take a look at the Arab-Israeli conflict article and if you agree with my assessment, could you revert?

I have looked at the policy on speedy deletion and I posted a hangon for this page. The fellow who put the sd template on it removed it. I was in the process of working on it, took a break for dinner and I see you have deleted it altogether in the meantime. Why? Having posted remarks on the talk page, I would have thought there would at least be some consideration given, having indicated content would be added.
