Torrence Hatch (born November 14, 1983) is an American rapper from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, who raps under the name Lil Boosie. He is easily distinguished among the rap industry through his high pitched voice.
Boosie joined a growing record label called Trill Entertainment which was backed by Pimp C of UGK. Pimp C signed Boosie and assisted him in bringing his legal issues to an end. Soon after, Boosie and Trill independently released the CD For my Thugz under TrillEnt, which sold over 15,000 copies. Later in the summer of 2003, Boosie teamed with labelmate Webster Gradney, known as Webbie, on the album Ghetto Stories, which also went on to sell well over 15,000 copies.
Boosie's latest release was Bad Azz vol. 2, released on October 23. It features songs such as,"Dats What They Like", "Smokin On Purple", and "Zoom" which features Yung Joc. "I'm Mad" is a single on his new album. "Zoom" is the current single. The album peaked at #5 on the Billboard Rap Albums Charts with 131,687 copies sold, making it his best selling album to date.
